The King of Fruits, mangoes are everyone’s favorite. But many of us avoid eating them thinking they cause acne and expand the waistline. Diabetic patients also are under the impression that this fruit is an absolute no for them. So, how many of these “myths” are actually true?

Mangoes contain no fat at all! They are rich in antioxidants, so rather than causing weight gain; they in fact give your metabolism a huge boost and help burn excess fat. Loaded with fiber, they also keep you full longer.

Diabetic patients do not worry! Mangoes are not at all dangerous for you; in fact it is recommended you consume a mango a day. Low on glycemic index and high in nutrients that regulate blood sugar, mangoes are very good for your system.

Mangoes… the acne monsters!

This is an absolute myth. Mangoes are actually extremely rich in carotene, which contributes to a flawless, sun kissed complexion.

Mango is not a cooling fruit, but all you have to do is soak the fruit in water for at least half an hour before eating. This leaches out all the acids that raise body temperature.

All in all? Mangoes are healthy, delicious fruits perfect for summer indulgence. Don’t miss out on the seasonal bonanza!
